yesterday was fun and arty- faculty art opening, the bishop, art auction, yogis and then house bar, which is much improved- couches and lanterns and $1 PBRs. It was VERY crowded, giving me that unjustified possessive feeling: I knew about this place WAAY before you all.

TGIF

back in print studio after much resistance and procrastination. finished a print featuring dachshunts. had a late nite freakout- did i spell dachshund right? made a trip back to studio to ensure i spelled it right.( i did). I'm unsatisfied with it, but am focusing on the points i DO like- large,even color fields, thick layers of color. decided to do prints of some random sketches from my notebook. i usually only sketch animals, so I guess that will be the unifying theme.

according to Lucky Magazine , a "new, dressier version" of the ol' pony tail is to wrap your hair around the elastic so as to class it up a bit!
you ass holes, everyones know about that since 1999. seriously. I think that is how I wore my hair to the prom.
oh well, guess I'll get back into it.

I also read that tourqouise is the new "IN" color. Thats fine by me, but I think there is a danger of spring 2010 looking like kindergarden dance recital.

wearing new lipgloss attempting a Taylor Swift kinda look, think I coulda gone a little pinker, but happy with the shinyness.

goin out to test the last Korean restaurant in the area. please let THIS one be good.

archiving

spent the morning taking photos of graduate student work to include in the IU print archives. this involved many of my unfavorite things:

-small, unorganized spaces
-non strategically placed outlets
-untangling multiple extension cords
-piles of stuff that could perhaps be thrown out, but no one knows for sure, so lets just leave it.
- alphabetisation
-not being payed

media hype

winter warning didn't amount to much- maybe about a foot of snow. it was the prettiest, dry-est snow I've ever seen. If you look real close you can see EACH individual snow flake. Exactly like a teeny crystal Christmas ornament. a gazillion tiny tiny beautiful flakes. whhhhooaaaa man. seriously though, pretty amazing.

I watched the Taylor Swift "You Belong with Me" music video again. now I want BIGGER glasses.

i am offended that her guy friend does not see her as pretty/girl friend material until the last scene when the glasses come off. Ass.

Listened to Fresh Air/Terry Gross interview with Bob Sullivan, author of Stop Getting Ripped-off. Wrote down list of stuff to do:
-go to bank and cancel the " complimentary overdraft protection plan" and install the regular overdraft protection plan that just withdraws money from your savings with minimal fees.
- apply for a credit card with bigger line of credit, so it looks like I have better credit, but try not to actually use it...
-I'll have to re-listen or read the book about why using cc card is better then debit card? I only use my debit. I think it is because of the danger of overdraft? but I'm getting better at paying attention.

The other stuff about cars didn't apply to me, but was interesting.
